If during the setup wizard, the events2HVAC service fails with the message "Error starting service. The system cannot find the file specified.", you can either uninstall and reinstall the software to see if that corrects the problem or you can follow the manual steps below to fix the problem.
This problem can be caused by updating an original 64-bit installation with a 32-bit installation.
Error message from the setup wizard:
Verify that the service exists:
Open the application root folder and find the events2hvac.service.exe file.
Uninstall the service:
From the command prompt (Start Menu - Run - "CMD")
enter the following in the command window: (Note: This path is shown for 64-bit operating systems, for 32-bit systems, remove the " (x86)" from the string.)
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\installutil.exe /u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Streamside Solutions\Events2HVAC\events2hvac.service.exe"
Install the service:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\installutil.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Streamside Solutions\Events2HVAC\events2hvac.service.exe"
Verify that the service can start now. Run the setup wizard and run through the steps again. Start menu - All Programs - Streamside Solutions - Setup Wizard.
